Fighting Loneliness Together—One Friendship at a Time!
For many people with disabilities, their greatest dream isn't health—it's a true friendship. At Drabina Jakubowa (Jacob’s Ladder), we’ve been connecting people with disabilities and volunteers for years, organizing joint trips and inclusive gatherings—from Warsaw to Izbica Kujawska. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, we help overcome loneliness and foster a deep sense of belonging. Now we want to do even more—and we need your help to make it happen!
One of our participants, Krzysztof, found true friendship through Drabina. Now over 40 yo., he has required daily support from his parents since birth due to cerebral palsy. He used to fear loneliness and couldn’t imagine feeling comfortable among others—but during one of our camps, volunteers helped him discover that not only could he count on their help, but even on their friendship.
At first, our camps took place only in the summer. Later, we added winter events around New Year's Eve. Over the past decade, we’ve expanded to offer regular gatherings throughout the year. Thanks to ongoing activities in 9 cities across Poland (Warsaw, Wołomin, Białystok, Lublin, Poznań, Wrocław, Grajewo, Brańszczyk, and Izbica Kujawska), our participants and volunteers can meet regularly—at spiritual gatherings, inclusive events, or in our community day centers. But to make these ongoing meetings possible, we need more than volunteers—we need a dedicated team to handle the administrative side of the organization.
With your help, Drabina Jakubowa can continue its mission of social integration for people with disabilities. We believe that every human being deserves connection, community, and the sense of being part of something bigger. Our work isn’t just about events—it’s about building lasting relationships that break down barriers and create spaces of love and acceptance.
Every donation directly impacts our 2025 goals:
✅ Organizing inclusive gatherings – We plan 4 meetings per month in each of the cities where we operate. That means hundreds of hours of conversations, laughter, and relationship-building that help people with disabilities feel part of a community.
✅ Volunteer development and leadership training – Our volunteers are the heart of our mission. We want to give them the tools and preparation they need to offer even more meaningful support.
✅ Covering administrative and operational costs – While our focus is on direct support, it wouldn’t be possible without coordination, planning, and infrastructure behind the scenes.
✅ Salaries for essential staff – Some responsibilities require consistent, professional oversight. Employing key team members helps us work more efficiently and grow our initiatives.
✅ Territorial expansion – We aim to reach new cities and expand our programs. This means travel costs and setting up meetings in new areas.
✅ IT Support – To protect sensitive data, including information about vulnerable individuals and patient-related records, our organization requires modern 21st-century technologies and highly professional IT support to ensure secure and efficient information flow.
Your support isn’t just a donation—it’s an investment in a better world, where no one has to feel alone.
Last year, we increased the number of camps from 7 to 11. But greater impact also means higher costs. Most of us (not everyone of our volunteers is religious) help because we’ve experienced God’s love. If you’ve felt God’s love too, we invite you to share it by joining our mission. With your help, a volunteer can devote time and energy to support someone with a disability. In turn, the person supported can express their gratitude and joyfully praise God—completing the circle of love you helped create.
Thanks to our donors, we’ve already bridged a serious budget gap once. Now we ask again—help us keep fighting loneliness all year round! Your support is essential for us to sustain and grow our work.
